These days there's generally nothing good to report when reading an article about sugar. It's been so condemned in fact, it now has its own tax levy. If it was not for the production of sugar from sugar cane however, the substance bagasse may never have been discovered!
Sugar is derived from sugar cane, a tropical grass produced around the world. A delicious article we recently read in The Economist explains why bagasse, the by-product of sugar production, could be part of a non-plastic hope for the future.
